Scic was an Italian cycling team which was founded in 1969 and was active in the peloton until 1979. The cycling team was sponsored by the Parma-based electronics company Scic. From 1969 to 1973 the team was led by Ercole Baldinim, but he was replaced by Carlo Chiappano in 1973. Under his leadership, many famous riders rode for the team such as: Vittorio Adorni, Gianbattista Baronchelli, Guiseppe Saronni and the Dutchman Roy Schuiten. Schuiten was under contract for a total of two seasons with this cycling team. Scic won several important rounds: Saronni won the Giro d'Italia in 1979, Baronchelli won the Giro di Lombardia in 1977. Further victories of the former Italian Cycling Team Scic include Tirreno-Adriatico, a championship in Zurich, the Tour of Switzerland, the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and numerous stages in the Giro d'Italia (26) and the Tour de France (3).
