After the success of last year, we are again organizing the TOUR DE RETRO weekend on June 23, 2024 together with fietscafé de Cyklist and Ton Merckx. On Sunday June 23 the tour will take place, on Saturday June 22 there will be a reconnaissance tour for the enthusiasts. It will again be a true retro cycling spectacle with - besides the wonderful Retro Tour - the Wheel of Fortune and a virtual Meet & Greet with cycling heroes of the past.
Program
The Tour de Retro 2024 consists of 2 parts; a reconnaissance tour on Saturday and the offical tour on Sunday.
On Saturday, June 22, you can take a preliminary reconnaissance tour. This Saturday there are no obligations. You choose your own start time and enjoy the route. Retro cycling gear is therefore not obligatory but desirable.
On Sunday, June 23, you can choose from two ways to start:
- As a retro lover: you wear a retro cycling jersey or outfit but can just participate on your own bike, no steel road bike.
- As a retro cyclist: you wear a retro cycling outfit and ride the tour on a steel road bike, dated before 1990.
You can choose from 3 tours of 45 km, 70 km or 100 km on Sunday. Start times are in the morning with retro lovers starting at 10:00 and retro cyclists starting at 10:30. Don't wait too long to register because there can only be a limited number of participants. So register now!
